Worthy is the Lamb Who Was Slain

Bible Passage: Hos. 6:6 For I desire loyalty, not sacrifice, and acknowledgment of God rather than burnt offerings.

Stop briefly and examine your motives for doing whatever you do. Do you serve out of obligation, obey out of fear, or love because love is returned? Our reactions in life are motivated responses.

We often attend church because that is expected, not because we want to worship the King of kings and Lord of lords. We sing because we know the song, like the lyrics, or because others sing, rather than because we want to praise a holy God.

God wants our entire being, heart, mind, body, and soul, not because He told us so but because we love Him for giving us the breath of life. He wants us to acknowledge Him in all things because He is worthy of our praise. We all have sinned, fallen short of God's glory, and deserve death, but He has given us life!

Before you begin your day, consider your response to God. He needs and expects nothing from us, yet, as a loving parent, He awaits our response. He loves us unconditionally, offering Himself as a sin offering so we might have life. He deserves our love and undivided attention, as He alone provides for our peace and contentment. Recognize His presence with every breath you take, not because we owe Him but because we love Him.
