Bible Passage: John 1:1-4 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God. All things came into being through Him; apart from Him, nothing came into being that has come into being. In Him was life, and the life was the Light of men.
The world seems to be falling apart. It was created perfect, but sin started its spiral to destruction. God spoke, and the world leaped into existence. God breathed on the dust of the earth, and with His breath, He created humanity in His image. He gave us a perfect garden and a personal relationship with each other and Himself, but that was not enough. He kept the dos and don’ts simple, eliminating our access to only one tree in the middle of the garden. Our pride would get the best of us when we could not follow a straightforward command.
Man's arrogance and self-centeredness seem to have no bounds. We continue to reject our Creator, thinking that we can control and change the world. We are duping ourselves if we believe that life is controlled by humanity. Our bodies are a mystery, whereas medical science is an art form where understanding is in the eye of the beholder. Disease, like the weather, does whatever it does outside our control.
God created all things and is still in control of them. We have life and breathe until God calls us home, and we breathe our last breath. After thousands of years of witnessing a higher power in control, you would think we might get on board with the program, but we have moved further away from God than we have drawn closer to Him.
Creation shouts to the glory of its Creator. We must turn a blind eye not to see this truth. We are all on a journey, just passing through. What we do with the time we have on earth establishes our future. We could ignore the Bible and live life for ourselves, but if God’s Word is true, every knee will bow and tongue confess that Jesus is Lord of all to the glory of the Father. Our sealed fate is being defined today.
Our Creator is awaiting our response. Ignore Him now, and He will ignore you when we finally see truth and torment as our reward. I will gladly surrender all in submission to Him today and accept His gift of eternal life through faith in His Son, Jesus Christ.
We stand on the practice field of life, so make this life count as we worship our Creator rather than settling for the best that a fallen world has to offer. I am setting my sights on the future; what about you?
